It was 12 degrees when the cameras began rolling and the blades churning.
DMK Productions, a Spokane based production company, brought me along to assist in a project for Spokane International Airport. The task at hand was to film and photograph the process of removing snow from the airport runways. The snow crunched down deep as we ran to and fro through the freezing tundras to get the right shot.
3 snow plows and a blower cleared the runways for the airplanes as we filmed and photographed. I've never seen such a snow operation. Plows and blades larger than most people sliced through the snow to then be ejected by the blower 130 feet out into the plains.
Talk about a rare and exciting opportunity for a photographer.
