Last week I had the absolute pleasure of assisting Keith Lango in the production of his short film De La Madre. I assisted with camera operation, production assistance, and a bit of pre-production.
As with most independent short films - what the job description is before and during a shoot changes drastically.
On set, I was changed car tires (2x) hauled the equivalent of a small studio (4x), had my apartment used as a set (1x), operated camera (3x), and was the sound mixer (2x)!
Not going to lie, getting to be involved in every aspect was a tiring endeavor - but I would have it no other way. When you get to work with a great crew and cast, it's all worth it!
