Coming into the new year I’ve been mulling over ways to share what I’ve learned during my (still quite young) career. It’s nothing new or groundbreaking, oh no. Simply my perspective, my experience, of learning over the past few years. If you will, more of a journal than “how-to textbook”.
Take it or leave it I’ll still post it (at least try to). It’s important to share what you learn, especially mistakes and growing pains. We all go through them and we all, at some point, believe we’re no good at this or that because so & so over there appears so successful even while sleeping . Now, we all know, or can at least acknowledge, overnight success does not really exist. Sure, some do get lucky. But for 99% of us, it’s the work that speaks. Those who benefit from “luck” of this semi-mythical kind do not reap the trial & error experience to fall back on.
Example A: Something you really shouldn’t do with a camera.
Much better.
So, with that, I’ll share my experience here. Good, bad, ugly, awesome-whateverI think to write (which itself a great challenge).
Here’s to New Years Resolutions!
I love this shot my wife took while filming in the Virgin Islands.
